SYNOPSIS

“Songs Birds Taught Me” unravels the strength behind the voices of three afro-colombian women: “cantaoras” and leaders, victims of the country’s armed conflict, who were forced to leave their territories and in search of some solace they landed in Bogotá city. Little by little their voices have been finding themselves and like migrating birds, they turned their songs into nests, into territories where they can still resist and heal from the wounds left by a senseless violence.
